Rio Brilhante is one of Brazil’s most established specialty coffee farms, located near Coromandel in the Cerrado Mineiro region of Minas Gerais. Founded by Inácio Carlos Urban in the 1980s, the farm has grown from a small coffee planting into a large family-run operation recognised for its commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability. Today, the farm is managed by multiple generations of the Urban family, combining decades of experience with a continual focus on improvement.

Situated between 900 and 1,150 metres above sea level, Rio Brilhante benefits from the distinct seasons and stable climate of Cerrado Mineiro. The farm is divided into numerous production areas, each managed according to its own conditions and microclimate. Careful harvesting, rigorous quality control, and a strong emphasis on traceability have helped establish Rio Brilhante as one of the leading producers in the region.

Natural processing plays a significant role in the farm’s production, with ripe cherries harvested and dried under carefully controlled conditions to preserve sweetness and structure. Across its many lots, Rio Brilhante coffees are known for their balance, clarity, and approachable character, showcasing the consistency that has made the farm a benchmark for quality Brazilian coffee.
